Portion AI Privacy Policy

Avantrix Intelligence ("Avantrix Intelligence," "we," "us," or "our") built Portion AI (the "App") to make calorie and macro tracking fast and effortless. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the App, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights available to you. By creating an account or using Portion AI, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information in order to provide and improve Portion AI's core features.

Account information. When you create a Portion AI account, we collect your email address and password. Your password is encrypted, and we never store or have access to it in plain text.

Onboarding and profile information. During onboarding, we ask for your name, age, sex, height, weight, activity level, and weight goal. We use this information solely to calculate your personalized daily calorie and macro targets and to tailor the app experience to you.

Meal and nutrition data. When you log a meal, we collect the information you provide — a typed description, a photo, or both — along with the nutrition estimates generated from that information. This is the core data the App is built around, and we treat it as sensitive personal information.

Subscription and payment information. Your subscription is purchased and billed through Apple's App Store. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. We do receive limited transaction information (such as purchase and renewal dates and subscription status) needed to manage your subscription, through RevenueCat.

Automatically collected information. Like most apps, we and our service providers may automatically collect limited technical information, such as device type, operating system version, app version, crash logs, and general usage data, to help us maintain and improve the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

  • create and maintain your account;
  • calculate your personalized daily calorie and macro targets;
  • generate nutrition estimates from the meals you log;
  • process and manage your subscription, including your free trial;
  • provide customer support and respond to your requests;
  • maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the App; and
  • diagnose technical issues and improve the App's features and performance.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your health, meal, or nutrition data for advertising purposes.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share your personal information only with the trusted service providers who help us operate Portion AI, and only for the purposes described below. We do not sell your data to anyone.

Anthropic (Claude AI). When you log a meal, the description and/or photo you submit is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate your nutrition estimate. Anthropic processes this data on our behalf to return a nutrition estimate, and handles it in accordance with its own API terms and privacy practices.

Supabase. Your account and app data are stored on Supabase, a secure cloud database provider. Our database uses row-level security, meaning your data is technically isolated so that only your authenticated account can access it.

RevenueCat. We use RevenueCat to manage and track subscriptions across devices. RevenueCat receives subscription-related data, such as your purchase and renewal status, but does not receive your meal, nutrition, or health profile data.

Apple. Your subscription purchase is processed entirely through Apple's App Store. Apple acts as the merchant of record for all payments, and Apple's own privacy policy governs the payment information you provide directly to Apple.

We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, or in the good-faith belief that doing so is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect the rights or safety of Avantrix Intelligence or our users, or investigate fraud or security issues. If Avantrix Intelligence is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will notify you of any such change in ownership or control.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Supabase's secure cloud infrastructure and protected using row-level security, so it is only accessible through your own authenticated account. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) to protect data sent between the App and our servers.

No method of storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you have reason to believe your account is no longer secure, please contact us immediately.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account and app data for as long as your account remains active, or as needed to provide the App's features to you. If you'd like to delete your account and associated data, contact us at the email below and we will delete your personal information within a reasonable timeframe, except where we are required to retain certain information to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations, or to resolve disputes.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, which can include the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • delete your personal information;
  • obtain a copy of your data in a portable format; and
  • opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising).

7. International Users

Portion AI is operated from the United States, and the service providers described above process data primarily in the United States. If you use the App from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, which may have data protection laws that differ from those of your home country.

8. Children's Privacy

Portion AI is not intended for, or directed at, children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we may have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us so we can investigate and address it.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" above and, where appropriate, notify you through the App. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
