Portion AI Terms of Service

Welcome to Portion AI! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Portion AI mobile application (the “App”), provided by Avantrix Intelligence (“Avantrix Intelligence,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Please read these Terms carefully before using the App.

1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Portion AI, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not download, install, or use the App. We may update these Terms from time to time; the “Effective Date” above reflects the most recent revision, and continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

2. Description of Service

Portion AI is an iOS application that uses artificial intelligence to help you track calories and macronutrients. You can log meals by entering a text description or uploading a photo, and our AI analyzes that input to generate nutrition estimates.

These estimates are meant to support everyday tracking and awareness. They are not a substitute for professional dietary or medical advice — see Section 4 below for more on this.

3. Free Trial & Subscription

Portion AI offers a 7-day free trial, starting from the date you create your account. No credit card is required to start your trial.

Once your trial ends, a paid subscription is required to keep using the App:

  • Price: $4.99 per month, billed monthly through the Apple App Store

  • Renewal: Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends

  • Payment: Charges are billed to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase, and again at each renewal

  • Cancellation: You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime from your Apple ID account settings on your device

Because payments are processed entirely through the App Store, we don’t have access to your payment information, and refunds are handled according to Apple’s policies.

4. AI Disclaimer

Portion AI uses artificial intelligence to estimate calorie and macronutrient content from the text and photos you provide. We work to make these estimates as accurate as possible, but AI-generated results are estimates — they may not always be perfectly accurate and can differ from a food’s actual nutritional content.

Portion AI is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition, and it is not a substitute for professional dietary or medical advice. Please do not rely on nutrition data from the App for medical or clinical decisions. If you have a health condition, allergy, or specific dietary need, consult a doctor or registered dietitian before making decisions based on information from the App.

5. User Responsibilities

By using Portion AI, you agree that:

  • You are at least 13 years old (if you’re between 13 and 18, you confirm you have a parent or guardian’s permission to use the App)

  • The information you provide is accurate and up to date to the best of your knowledge

  • You will not misuse the App, interfere with its normal operation, or use it for any unlawful purpose

  • You will not reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code or underlying models behind the App

6. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality within Portion AI — including the app design, branding, logos, text, graphics, and AI-generated outputs — are the property of Avantrix Intelligence and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without our prior written consent.

7. Limitation of Liability

Portion AI is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Avantrix Intelligence is not liable for inaccuracies in AI-generated nutrition estimates, or for any decisions, actions, or outcomes — including health-related outcomes — resulting from your use of or reliance on information from the App. Avantrix Intelligence is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our discretion. Where possible, we’ll make reasonable efforts to notify you if this happens.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
